An aquamarine specimen mounted in a cast bronze barnacle.
The barnacles were cast from fossils I have collected at local beaches. Once replicated in wax, I carved them out to fit each specific piece of aquamarine, then cast them in bronze, all in my small Maryland studio.
The aquamarines are from Erongo Mountain, Namibia. Each piece comes with a specimen card.
